  • What type of community is SearStone?

    SearStone is a Life Care continuing care retirement community for those aged 62 and better.

  • What types of homes are here?

    You can choose from a variety of home styles and locations. We have one-bedroom apartment homes which are around 1100-square feet, two-bedroom and two-bedroom + den apartment homes which range from 1300 to 2000 square feet, and duplex-style estate homes that range from 1800 to 4000-square feet.

  • Who lives at SearStone?

    Our residents are completely independent and active. Many are retired, but some are still working professionals. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

  • What is it like living at SearStone?

    As a resident you enjoy a host of amenities and services including a vibrant cultural and educational program of events, a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center with indoor swimming pool and fitness program, three restaurants exclusively for SearStone residents, transportation services to cultural outings and medical appointments, and a 24/7 security and emergency call response program. All of your home maintenance, insurance, taxes and utilities are included as well. You also get great peace of mind knowing that if you should have a change in health the community provides Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing Care at no additional expense, right on site.

  • When did SearStone open?

    SearStone opened on November 1, 2013.

  • How much does it cost?

    SearStone is an Entrance Fee community, and the Entrance Fees are 100% refundable. It is different than buying real estate because our residents don’t have the responsibility to sell their home upon leaving the community. When a resident leaves the community they take a 100% refund on their entrance fee. The Entrance Fees start at $350,000 and depend on size and location. Residents also pay a Monthly Membership Fee to cover all the costs of living in the home including utilities, maintenance, housekeeping, cultural arts and other amenities. The monthly cost starts at $3,250 per month for the first person and $1,070 for the second person. The Life Care Program at SearStone provides unlimited long-term care such as Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing and Rehab care. There is a one-time fee for Life Care which is $52,225 per person.

  • Not-for-profit Community

    SearStone is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) and the community is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors. The board is currently made up of town leaders in Cary,experts in land development and marketing and SearStone residents. SearStone –RLA provides the day-to-day operations management of the community.
