Jan Busby-Whitehead, M.D., is a professor of medicine and director of the Center for Aging & Health in the UNC School of Medicine. She is also associate director for clinical practice for the UNC Institute on Aging, director of the UNC Hospitals Continence Clinic, and director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship. A fellowship-trained geriatrician, she is board certified in internal medicine, and has the certificate of special competency in geriatric medicine. She is active in the American Geriatrics Society, and has extensive background in the development of clinical and educational programs in geriatric medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1977.
